Bactrian camels are one of the two members of the genus CamelusIt differs from the dromedary camel because it has two humps on its back and it also has a longer coat of fur, to help it cope with the cold. The majority of this species is domesticated by humans, though a few wild populations thrive in the Gobi and Taklamakan deserts of China and Mongolia, the plains of Kazakhstan and Pakistan's Kashmir Valley. Their natural predators include snow leopards and wolves.
