Edward "Ed" Asner is an American actor and voice artist. He is well known for his role in the 1970s sitcom Mary Tyler Moore as Lou Grant and its spin off Lou Grant, in which reprised the role. He has also ventured into voice acting, most notably as Carl Fredrickson in Up as well as in Batman, Spiderman, Gargoyles, The Boondocks and Superman.
