The llama is a close relative of the camel. It is domesticated, meaning the creature is used to carry heavy loads and used for its meat  and wool. The llama inhabits the Andes of South America, from Ecuador down to Chile where it shares the same habitat as its wild counterparts, the guanaco, alpaca and vicuna. The creature's natural predators include condors, foxes and mountain lions.
